A Breathtaking Coniston Hotel
There’s no denying the lakeside setting steals the show at The Coniston Inn. Hugged on one side by dramatic fell views with the glistening Coniston Water on the other, this Lake District Inn with rooms is pretty special in my book and one of the best Coniston hotels. If you stay in one of the mountain view rooms, that’s exactly what you can expect, incredible views of iconic fells such as Wetherlam, Old Man of Coniston, and Dow Crag – what better scenery to wake up to each morning?
The building itself is certainly no shrinking violet as its Lake District slate façade stands proudly overlooking the lawn that tumbles down to the lakeshore. Strewn among the tree-fringed garden you’ll find several timber summer houses where you can while away the hours. Alternatively, stroll down to the jetty to watch the boats and paddleboarders or take a dip in the lake.
There’s a real sense of peace and tranquility at The Coniston Inn that invites you to escape and unwind. The bedrooms here are equally as inviting with their flop-into beds, Lake District views and contemporary facilities. They even have designated dog friendly rooms.
The food at The Coniston Inn sure knows how to pack a punch with its hearty, homecooked dishes inspired by the seasons. Much-loved classics, Cumbrian breakfasts and the famous Sunday carvery are to die for, all served in the cool yet suave dining rooms. And the garden terrace cries out for a spot of al fresco dining on those sun-drenched afternoons.
