Famed for its 12^th century priory, Cartmel in the Lake District not only has many historical sites to explore but is also the perfect place to enjoy a host of outdoor activities. Explore Cartmel Village and its surroundings on a walk from Cartmel to Grange-over-Sands where you’ll enjoy glorious views out to sea and across to the majestic peaks of Dow Crag and The Old Man of Coniston. You can also visit the Hampsfell Hospice which was built in 1846 by the Vicar of Cartmel. On the roof of the Hospice, you’ll find a summit viewfinder that tells you which fell you’re looking at.

Apart from the renowned sticky toffee pudding, the shop also sells puddings and crumbles – perfect for those with a sweet tooth.
